Wrexham Reivers

(formerly Wrexham Section)

Wrexham Reivers, of the Chester and North Wales CTC, meet regularly at the Expresso Café in Gwersyllt on Saturday mornings. There is a great choice of locations for rides from Wrexham which ensures that the programme has a good mixture of flat and hilly rides. Generally the rides are longer in the summer to make the most of better weather and longer days.

Rides start at the café with at least one other café stop during the day. Some members come for a chat and a cup of tea even if they are not intending to ride with the group that day. Meeting at the café ensures that new riders have a chance to be introduced to other members in the group before starting the rides.

For most of the year we meet at 9.00am and generally aim to leave by 9.30 (although in bad weather it may take longer to leave the café), in the winter & early Spring we meet later and aim to set off by 10am The distances covered vary with some rides of 20-25 miles through to 60 or 70 miles plus; winter rides are generally shorter, with longer rides in the summer as the weather gets warmer. There are often a couple of groups setting off to give a range of distance/climbing.

Rides are arranged on a weekly basis, by email with the group being sent information mid-week, and asked ( where possible to sign up for the ride in advance). This allows riders to be contacted if there is a change of plan ( eg rides cancelled due to bad weather.
